A New Year with New Inspiration

South Coast Artists, the non-profit artists group representing the towns of Tiverton, Little Compton, Westport and Dartmouth, is making a fresh start with a new look for 2022.

SCA’s board of directors have revealed a new website design and a fresh new approach to its printed brochure, mobile app, logo and marketing campaign. The new look is the result of months of work by a group of dedicated volunteers.

“As we approach the 19th Annual South Coast Artists Open Studio tour, we have continued to evolve and grow as an organization,” says SCA President Heather Stivison of Dartmouth. “From the first tour in 2004, with 11 artists, to our current membership of over 150 artists, the support from our community has been extraordinary.”

“With the changes brought about by the Pandemic, we realized how important our digital presence should be,” Stivison says. “We needed to create new ways to connect artists and art lovers. As a result, we developed a mobile app to help visitors navigate the Open Studio Tour, created a sister website for a virtual tour experience, and increased our exposure on different social media outlets.”

In continuing to evolve digitally, SCA now has a clean, new website, one that is much easier to navigate. It’s designed with the user in mind. There are virtual galleries that highlight artist members, special exhibitions and educational events. Visitors can also check out the creative talents of our members by clicking on an artist listing that reveals some of their latest work and contact information, all this from the comfort of their home.

SCA artist members will have access to unique members-only content. That area includes video resources, call for entries, and the SCA blog “Coffee with SCA.” Artists also could share their own arts information about exhibitions and much more.

Over the years, SCA’s brand has evolved to showcase the artists living and working in the idyllic South Coast region of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The logo and color palate of the organization has evolved to better represent the elegant beauty of our coastal region. These updates will be consistent across all marketing platforms. In the multi-faceted ways in which we communicate, it is our goal to highlight the artwork of our members and vibrant community, while building on the framework from all the past and present volunteer members and board members.

“I’m proud of the professionalism of our board members,” Stivison adds. “In uncertain times, this group of dedicated volunteers continues to discover new ways to bring your best art out into the community.”

We encourage you to explore our new website and save the dates for the 19th Open Studio Tour, on the weekends of July 16-17 and Aug. 20-22, and the annual Members Invitational Exhibition from April 29-May 29 at the Dedee Shattuck Gallery in Westport, MA.
