William Gajda started his career as a Tool & Die maker by trade. While working as an Engineer woodworking classes and wood workshops were pursued. Overtime, metal and wood working equipment were purchased. Everything he made was either for himself or for family. Once retired, a small business (William Marshall Studio) making items using wood and/or metal was achieved. The types of work created is considered functional art.

William enjoys refurbishing old antique furniture which includes caning chairs. William now makes furniture along with other items using the skills he learned. His work includes barn doors, dining and console tables, clocks, specialty cutting and charcuterie boards, serving trays, desks, cabinets, custom metal hinges, etc. The wood he utilizes is generally local to New England. There are cases he does use exotic woods for charcuterie boards and serving trays. The wood may include Zebra and Purple Heart. William has his own studio which includes a tool room and woodshop where he spends his time making and creating custom items.
