2025 Invitational Juror, Michael Rose
The juror for the Invitational is Michael Rose, an art gallerist and writer based in Providence, RI. Rose serves as the gallery manager at the historic Providence Art Club. He also writes the weekly "Inside Art" column for local news site GoLocalProv.com, profiling artists and he produces New England Art News, a weekly newsletter highlighting opportunities for artists throughout the region.
Awards for outstanding artworks will be presented at 6:00 p.m. during the opening reception on Saturday, May 3rd.
IMAGO Foundation for the Arts began as a cooperative gallery founded and run by artists in 2003, becoming a federal nonprofit organization in 2007. The gallery is known for its high-quality exhibits, artist members, and commitment to arts education and performance for the surrounding communities.
“The quality of the work exhibited this year is impressive,” says SCA President Stephen Remick. “The South Coast is a unique region that has been inspiring artists for generations. And, to be able to share these works at a place like IMAGO, is significant.”

2025 Members’ Invitational
Juror Comments: “I would like to thank Steve Remick and everyone at South Coast Artists for inviting me to judge this show. South Coast Artists is such an important community-based art group and it’s always wonderful to see the work being made by artists that form this organization. There are so many artworks in the gallery that merit attention and praise so I hope you all will pick your own favorites in addition to the pieces I singled out for the following awards!”
ISABELLA CARINCI, Suburban Sketches 7
First Place
ISABELLA CARINCI
Suburban Sketches 7
Isabella’s series of small drawings shows that an artwork can make a great impact regardless of scale or medium. This thoughtful and well-executed graphite drawing is simultaneously full of mystery and feelings of nostalgia. Modest in scale, it invites the onlooker into a complex and interesting personal narrative.
ERICA DRIVER, Camellia, Sean Conway’s Greenhouse
Second Place
ERICA DRIVER
Camellia, Sean Conway’s Greenhouse
Erica’s use of paint markers as the primary medium is inventive and allows the artist to find all kinds of interesting details in the scene, which unfolds before the viewer. Looked at quickly, it might appear to be a lush garden, but upon closer inspection the industrial details of a greenhouse come into view.
CALI ALMY, Stacked Telluric Forms
Third Place
CALI ALMY
Stacked Telluric Forms
Cali’s distinctive and totemic ceramic form is attention-grabbing. Full of fine technical details, it also illustrates precarity in a direct and elegant manner. The innate tension in these piled bulbous shapes encourages engagement.
Juror’s Awards
DON CADORET, Pollinator at Play
Don has a dedication to details that merits attention and repeated looking. Note the tiny honeybees in the four corners of the piece to see just how attuned the artist is to every last centimeter of this artwork.
NADINE FLOWERS, Sakonnet Artifacts Nadine’s assemblage has a poetic quality about it. Items found scattered in the natural world are the subject of great care and careful construction here, offering viewers a chance to see them in a new light.
CHRISTINE TANSEY, Tinchbray Christine’s photograph is finely composed and rich in quietude. Executed in a style reminiscent of classic photographs, it also as a bonus makes the viewer want to visit the structure that has been captured.
