Julie Urtz is a self-taught artist with over 40 years of experience. Starting with pencil drawings of celebrities at a young age and then photography, she has always found landscapes and architecture great subjects for her camera. Painting came in her 20s when acrylic landscapes were a passion. Now she paints abstracts with oils and finds watercolor oysters so much fun. Deep jewel-tone abstracts to light-toned watercolors make her work varied yet compelling. "What I see outside for my camera is a different feeling than what comes out when painting. I try to capture both worlds as best as I can."
