CAPTURING THE EVER-CHANGING LIGHT AND BEAUTY OF THE SOUTH COAST.
Judy Melanson
Judy Melanson’s work captures transitional moments here in the SouthCoast of New England, changes inspired by the rising and receding tidal waters, the shifting light at dawn and dusk, the nuances introduced by a cloud or sunbeam.
She paints on location and in her studio, with a desire to convey the essence of the moment as simply as possible, with few details, leaving the viewer to connect and insert themselves into the painting. To trigger a memory. A limited palette and muted colors are appropriate for the transitional moments she loves and they create a calm and peaceful mood, making the paintings subtle and soft.
She is a member of the Four Corner Gallery in Tiverton. She also belongs to the Westport Art Group where she has won awards including Sponsors Choice.
She plans to continue learning and growing as an artist, tackling new challenges, and (most important of all) having fun.
