Johanna McKenzie

Mollynook Studio

Johanna came to painting in the mid-eighties after working in clay at Nonquit Pottery. She studied throughout Rhode Island and completed a residency at the Vermont Studio School with Bernard Chaet, Marjorie Portnoy, and Wolf Khan. She works largely in oils but has also worked in pastel and encaustic. Her most usual works are her paintings in wool, which replicate her landscape style using American rug hooking techniques.

She is a prize winning artists member of the Providence Art Club, the American Artists Professional League, and the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club of New York.
