HANDCRAFTED SCULPTURE IN STONE AND NATIVE WOOD.
Hugh Kelly
Hugh Kelly is a self taught sculptor who finds stone (alabaster, marble, soapstone and chlorite) and native saplings to be both challenging and expressive. His work encompasses a wide variety of subjects including nature, the human form, and impressionistic interpretations largely determined by the context of his medium. His output ranges from palm sized renderings of animals and aquatic creatures, to coffee table sized pieces mounted on bases of contrasting stone . When the mood strikes, he will turn to native saplings ,and produce one of a kind "folk art style" canes and hiking sticks. To date, his work has been included in more than 100 private collections.
