Cali Almy Ceramics

Cali Almy has been exploring clay for over 4 decades as an artist and teacher. Her work represents an inquiry of nature at times depicting a macro or expansive view across a marsh or coastline, and at times intended to explore more intimate scenes. She embraces the challenge of creating simple forms in clay and exploring more expressive surfaces, and her work is meant to be held, used and enjoyed. Cali has taught in high school and community art spaces and holds an MFA from UMass Amherst. After a career as a high school art teacher, she pivoted in 2019 and completed a two year as an Artist in Residence program at the Worcester Center for Crafts with a focus in Ceramics. She currently spends creative time in studios in Westport, MA, and Providence, RI, while enjoying a little time for teaching as well.
