Ana Paula Arsenio
Ana Paula Arsenio express herself with oil paint on canvas. She works primarily from imagination but inspired by the human form, intense color and lighting.
Art and design has always been a part of Ana's life especially as a young girl when she left Portugal where she was born, and came to America not speaking the language. Art was a way of communicating visually. A language everyone understands, a visual language without words or sound.
Ana has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting/ Education from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters of Teaching in Fine Arts from Rhode Island College. Ana is not only a painter but has done work in photography, sculpture and clay, drawing and collage work, is a writer, and an educator of Fine Arts and Fashion Design.
Her passion for Art and Design has led her to participate in displaying her paintings in various galleries alongside talented area artists and also solo exhibitions in Providence, Warren, Bristol, Newport, and Fall River.
She speaks through her paintings with color and intense light as it dances off of her subject matter. She is drawn to the figure as well as abstraction, and sometimes combines the two in a surrealistic way.
She consistently challenges herself with a variety of subject matter in each of her series.
