Artists & Friends Gathering to Celebrate!

On June 18th, we were filled with joy to gather in person and kickoff the 2025 Tour season! Hosted by one of our Sponsors at Weatherlow Farms in Westport, MA, our artists picked up Tour materials and celebrated art and community!

The annual summer party was set amongst the backdrop of a working farm, complete with rolling fields and historic stone walls, much of which inspires many SCA artists. “A lively crowd of artists, friends and sponsors celebrated together with lively conversation, art, food, and drink”, said event coordinator and SCA Vice President, Lindsey Epstein.

“What an amazing and inspiring evening!” exclaimed artist Galen Snow.

The Tour Kickoff party welcomes all SCA members, their family members, and SCA Sponsors to gather, celebrating our vibrant arts community. Our artists brought their artwork to display, while enjoying a vast array of culinary delights to share.

The event started many years ago as ‘Distribution Day’ – a day where volunteers worked to fill bags for all Tour artists filled with brochures and business cards and distribute them among the members. As our organization has grown, the even now spans two days. One day to fill bags of brochures and marketing materials for our artists and Sponsors, and to set up the venue. The following day is now the Tour Kickoff Party to gather with our community and celebrate art.

South Coast Artists is a volunteer run organization, and events like the kickoff party would not be possible without a fabulous team of volunteers. Our featured speaker for the evening, Kelly Milukas, highlighted that point during her remarks to the group. “Whether you helped to stuff bags, assemble signs, swept the floor, or brought food to an event- YOU have helped make this organization what it is today.”

By the end of the party, attendees were energized with a renewed goal, knowing their peers felt the same, ready to get their work out to the public to make a positive impact on our local communities. Mark your calendars for the Tours this summer: July 19-20 and August 16-17, 2025 and find out what inspires so many artists to gather in the magical Farm Coast region of southeastern Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
