Thank you for your support of the arts! When SCA was originally granted nonprofit status our mission was to increase the understanding and appreciation of visual arts in our community. Over the years we have never faltered in our educational mission—offering programs, lectures, children’s activities, hands-on demonstrations, and artists talks.

In celebration of our 20th anniversary, we proudly partnered with  Westport Cultural Council to present the film Loving Vincent—the world’s first fully painted feature-length film—as yet another way to celebrate visual arts. This ground-breaking narrative film brings the paintings of van Gogh to life through the laborious effort of 125 professional artists- including local artist and SCA member Kat Knutsen- who hand-painted every one of the movie’s 65,000 frames. The event was set for Wednesday August 16, and Kat agreed to offer a post screening Q&A.

South Coast Artists, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, educates, represents, and supports artists living and working in the coastal towns of Dartmouth and Westport, MA, and Tiverton and Little Compton, RI. Each summer SCA sponsors studio Tours and this year the 20th annual SCA Open Studio Tour takes place on the weekends of July 15-16 and August 20-21. Each year, SCA delivers educational events and grants for emerging artists.
