Hello South Coast Artists,
As I drove around the area this week, all these blue and white signs started pushing up out of the ground, dotting the roadsides, just like they’ve done for many years prior. I couldn’t help but think of a parable to vegetable gardening, as that has consumed me and many of you this time of year. These blue and white blossoms are a sign - and a little reward - that much cultivating was done to get to this point. I’m not just talking about the effort SCA has put in, but what you as individual artists have done. Yet, we know more work is needed for our efforts to come to fruition.
So, congratulations to those on the Tour for making it this far! I encourage the rest of us SCA artists to visit our members’ studios this weekend and help spread the word. Also, patronize our sponsors and donors and let them know we appreciate their support. We are all affected by SCA’s most public event and benefit greatly from the Open Studio Tours.
