Hello South Coast Artists,

Are we ready for spring yet? Here’s your reminder that we’ll be gathering on Zoom on Thursday, February 19th at 7:00pm. Future gatherings will be in-person.

We have an exciting and art-filled year ahead with a good amount of new members we hope will show up along with our more seasoned crowd. We’ll be going over what’s coming up and what to prepare for in the next few months, as well as, and you’ll be the first to know, not one but two special event guest speakers this fall. One will be the third guest in our Distinguished Speaker Series. The second speaker’s subject is serendipitously related to the other. We couldn’t let it go unnoticed!

For this February gathering’s guest speaker, we have invited Claudia Fiks to talk. Claudia is an art administrator in Boston with more than 2 decades of experience working in the arts. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the New England Art Center and TAG Gallery in Boston’s SoWa Arts & Design District, she also serves as Executive Director of Newton Open Studios, one of the region’s largest annual art events.

Through exhibitions, talks, and workshops, she is deeply committed to helping artists navigate today’s complex and evolving art landscape with clarity and confidence. She continues: “I’ll share insights on pacing your career, setting boundaries, and choosing opportunities that align with where you truly are, not where you feel pressured to be. We’ll also explore the essential role of community in a field that can feel competitive and isolating, and how dialogue, shared spaces, and meaningful relationships with peers, galleries, and organizations can foster visibility, accountability, and long-term resilience.”

Open Studio Tour Registration

Early bird Tour registration is underway. Eligible artists were sent a link to the registration form. If you do not have your link, please check your junk email folders, or let us know and we will resend it to you.

Please be sure to review the prospectus before registration- you can find more information, training videos, and other resources in the Member’s Only page of our website.

Early bird registration is open from February 1-13, 2026 for artists who were registered for the 2025 Tour. The form will close at 12:00 a.m. February 14th for a brief time until regular registration opens at 8:00 a.m. the same day.

IMPORTANT DATES REGARDING THE TOUR:

● February 1-13 - Early Bird Tour Registration
● February 14-28 - Tour Registration NEW: Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. on February 14th.
● February 28 - Tour Registration Closes. PLEASE NOTE: tour registration may close earlier if the maximum number of 75 artists is reached.
● March 2 - Tour Art Contest Submissions Open
● March 22 - Tour Art Contest Submissions Close
● May 21 - Tour Art Contest Winners Announced at Members Gathering
● June 17 - Kickoff Party at Weatherlow Farms, Westport, MA
● July 18-19 - Open Studio Tour Weekend One
● August 15-16 - Open Studio Tour Weekend Two
