April Members’ Gathering

Hello South Coast Artists!

We hope to see you all at our April Members’ Gathering on Thursday, April 17th, at Buzzards Bay Brewing’s The Kettle, in Westport. 

Dartmouth based artist, Bill Shattuck, will be our guest speaker. He’ll be talking about life and art - both, in general and his own - and wherever the conversation leads, with your help. Audience participation is encouraged.

Bill Shattuck

Bill Shattuck grew up outside New York City and is self taught. While living and working in NYC in his early twenties, he began exploring free lance illustration work outside of his day job at The Daily News. Becoming intrigued with the idea of the narrative through his work in editorial Illustration, he dove deeper into his confidence as an artist. 

Please join us for what will surely be an enjoyable evening with enlightening conversation in a beautiful location among friends and fellow artists.

We understand that cases of the flu are still prevalent in our area- if you are feeling sick, or that you might be sick, please stay home. We are also asking that you be considerate of the type of food brought for the pot-luck, and ask that you avoid bringing dip types of food with you. Please remember to take home your leftovers at the end of the evening as well!

Call for Artists to Demonstrate their Art-Making Process

Artists wishing to volunteer their time during the event will be given a two-hour time slot to demonstrate their process. Participating artists will be responsible for bringing all required materials for the demonstration, set up and clean up. SCA will provide table space to set up the demonstration. We ask artists to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time to set up their work space.

Please note: This is not a sales event for our demonstrators. Demonstrating artists are welcome to bring postcards or their own promotional materials to share with the audience. If you wish to sell your work, vendor space can be rented directly from Hatch Street Studios for $100.
